The Phönix 23 Years Old Blended Caribbean Rum Black Design is a premium blended Caribbean rum, composed of seven carefully selected Caribbean rums. The rums used come from Cuba, Venezuela and Barbados, amongst other places, and bring different regional characteristics to the blend. The long ageing period of 23 years forms the basis for its distinctive depth and complexity. After being imported into Austria, the individual components are blended together by ETM Handels GmbH. To allow the various rums sufficient time to blend harmoniously, they are then stored in oak casks for several weeks. This additional step rounds off the individual components to create a balanced overall profile.


The Phönix 23 Years Old Caribbean Rum is bottled at 40 per cent in a 0.5 l bottle and presented in a gift box. The striking black design emphasises the exclusive appearance of this bottling. With this rum, Phönix has deliberately opted for selected, long-aged components that are only available in limited quantities, rather than production geared towards large volumes. The combination of seven Caribbean rum varieties, 23 years of ageing and additional harmonisation in oak casks in Austria makes this bottling particularly appealing to connoisseurs of matured blended rums. At the same time, the combination of high-quality presentation and the gift box makes it ideal for special occasions or as a gift for rum enthusiasts.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber with warm golden highlights.

Nose: Complex, with caramel, vanilla and honey, accompanied by chocolate, exotic fruits and subtle oak notes.

Palate: Full-bodied and velvety with tropical fruits, caramel and chocolate, complemented by vanilla, honey and harmoniously integrated oak spice.

Finish: Long-lasting, smooth and harmonious with tropical fruit, subtle sweetness and a pleasant lingering hint of oak.

The Phönix 23 Years Old Blended Caribbean Rum is best enjoyed neat and without ice at around 22–23 °C. Once poured, the rum should be left to rest in the glass for at least two to three minutes, ideally around ten minutes, to allow its aromatic depth to unfold. It pairs well with dark chocolate, roasted nuts, dried fruit or mature hard cheese. Thanks to its long ageing, the Black Design and the gift box, this rum is particularly well-suited to rum tastings, anniversaries, birthdays and other special occasions.
