The Phönix 8 Years Old Blended Caribbean Rum Black Design is an 8-year-old blended Caribbean rum that combines Caribbean rum tradition with a blending process in Austria. The selected rum components originate from the Caribbean and, thanks to their eight-year cask maturation, are given sufficient time to develop a complex yet balanced character. The rums are then blended by ETM Handels GmbH in Austria, bringing the individual components together to form a harmonious whole. The Caribbean 8YO thus expands the Phönix Linie with a bottling that focuses on a clearly defined age statement and the classic character of matured Caribbean rum.


The Phönix Caribbean 8 Years Old is bottled at 40 per cent in a 0.5-litre bottle and presented in a gift box. The striking black design gives the bottle a high-quality, modern look, making it an attractive gift option. The eight years of cask ageing provide additional body and a pleasant spiciness, whilst the Caribbean origin of the rum components forms the basis of the blend. Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber with golden highlights.

Nose: Inviting, with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and vanilla, accompanied by tropical dried fruits and subtle oak spice.

Palate: Full-bodied and spicy with dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla, complemented by dried tropical fruits, oak and a slight heat.

Finish: Long-lasting and warming with harmonious spice, subtle oak and pleasantly lingering dark flavours.

The Phönix Caribbean 8YO is best served neat and without ice at around 22–23 °C in a rum glass. After pouring, it is advisable to let the rum breathe for at least 10 minutes, ideally 15 to 20 minutes, so that the influences of the eight-year cask maturation can unfold to their full potential. It pairs well with dark chocolate, roasted nuts, dried fruit or mature hard cheese. Thanks to its black design and gift box, this bottling is also ideal for birthdays, rum tastings and other special occasions.
