Dunville's 12 Years Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey PX Cask is a 12-year-old single malt Irish whiskey in which the influence of Pedro Ximénez sherry casks plays a central role. Dunville’s is closely linked to Belfast’s historic whisky tradition and is now produced by the Echlinville Distillery. The brand thus builds on a name that was already renowned for Irish whisky as far back as the 19th century. Tasting Note

Colour: Warm amber.

Nose: Complex, with apricots, grapefruit and toasted almonds, followed by fresh green apples, apple tart, lightly spiced Calvados, caramel cream and dark fruit compote.

Palate: Fresh green apples and fruit sorbet give way to soft fruit, raisins, figs and stewed dates, accompanied by sweet malt, marzipan cake and candied orange.

Finish: Long-lasting and well-balanced with clean malt, vanilla panna cotta, dried tropical fruits, cloves and oak spice, as well as a lingering influence of Pedro Ximénez sherry.

Dunville’s 12 Years Old Single Malt PX Cask is particularly well suited to being enjoyed neat at room temperature, although a few drops of water can further open up the complex fruit and sherry notes. It pairs well with dark chocolate, dried figs and dates, roasted almonds or desserts featuring apple and marzipan. Mature hard cheeses also provide a fitting counterpart to the pronounced fruity sweetness of the PX cask. Thanks to its gift box and twelve-year maturation, this single malt also makes an excellent gift for lovers of Irish whiskies with a pronounced sherry cask influence.
