Liliac & Kracher Ice Wine 2024 10% ABV 0.375 l

The Liliac & Kracher Ice Wine 2024 10 % combines the unique terroir of Transylvania with the Austrian expertise in sweet wines of the renowned Kracher winery. This joint project stems from the long-standing relationship between Kracher and the Romanian winery Liliac. Another factor is the increasingly mild winters in Burgenland, which are making it more difficult to achieve the natural conditions required for ice wine production. The cold winters in Transylvania, Romania, on the other hand, offer favourable conditions for the grapes to freeze naturally. For the 2024 vintage, the Muskat Ottonel, Traminer and Fetească Albă grape varieties will be blended together.


The hand-picked Romanian grapes and the expertise of both wineries form the basis for a characterful ice wine from Transylvania, in which concentrated fruit and sweetness are underpinned by a lively acidity. It is precisely the combination of these aromatic grape varieties with the region’s climatic conditions that gives this sweet wine its distinctive identity. With an alcohol content of 10% and presented in the classic 0.375 l bottle, the Liliac & Kracher Ice Wine 2024 is ideal as a dessert wine and for special moments of indulgence. This collaborative project thus combines Romanian viticulture with Austrian expertise in ice wine to create an unusual interpretation of this time-honoured wine speciality.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Liliac & Kracher Ice Wine 2024 presents a pale straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights. On the nose, notes of grapefruit and other citrus fruits unfold, accompanied by hints of exotic fruits, sugar melon and fragrant elderflower. On the palate, the ice wine displays lovely, crisp fruit and concentrated sweetness, harmoniously balanced by lively acidity. The finish is fresh, fruit-driven and well-balanced.

The Liliac & Kracher Ice Wine is ideal with fruity desserts, crème brûlée, tarte Tatin or delicate pastries. This sweet wine provides an exciting contrast to foie gras, as well as to strong, mature cheeses and blue cheeses. On its own, the 2024 Ice Wine is also excellent as the finale to a meal or as a special dessert wine for festive occasions.
