Flor de Caña has been family-owned since 1890 and is a sustainably produced rum.

In 1875, Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa, a young adventurer from Genoa, Italy, left his family behind to travel to the exotic country of Nicaragua. The perfect location for the distillery was found at the foot of the San Cristóbal volcano, Nicaragua’s highest and most active volcano. The fertility of the surrounding land, the nutrient-rich water and the hot volcanic climate proved to be crucial to the rum’s unique and smooth flavour.

Flor de Caña is authorised by the strict US government agency to bear the designation ‘SLOW AGED’.

‘SLOW AGED’ describes the natural, unhurried ageing process in oak casks. This designation stands for the highest quality.

Flor de Caña Gran Reserva 7 Years Old is aged for 7 years in small 180-litre white oak casks.

Tasting Note

Colour: Mahogany.

Nose: Light, with notes of toasted coconut, vanilla and figs.

Palate: Smooth, honey, dark chocolate.

Finish: Long-lasting, slightly spicy.
