This Single Malt Irish Whiskey is made from malted barley, which is traditionally dried over peat fires. This creates the characteristic smoky and heather notes that are otherwise more commonly found in Scottish island whiskies. Maturation takes place in selected ex-bourbon casks, which lend the whisky additional nuances of vanilla, honey and oak. At 40% ABV, Connemara Original is pleasantly balanced, combining sweet fruit notes, creamy malt and peat smoke in a remarkably harmonious way.
