Ramazzotti Amaro is a classic Italian herbal liqueur with a tradition stretching back over 200 years. The recipe was developed in Milan in 1815 by Ausano Ramazzotti and has remained unchanged to this day. Made from a harmonious blend of 33 carefully selected herbs, roots and spices, this Amaro combines the perfect balance of sweet, spicy and slightly bitter flavours.

Particularly characteristic of Ramazzotti are the delicate citrus notes of oranges and the gentle sweetness of star anise and liquorice, rounded off by the herbaceous and slightly bitter nuances. With an alcohol content of 30 % vol., it has a pleasant intensity that makes it incredibly versatile – whether enjoyed neat, on the rocks or as a base for sophisticated cocktails.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany brown.

Nose: Spicy herbs, oranges, liquorice, subtle hints of vanilla.

Palate: Smooth, well-balanced, sweet and bitter, with notes of orange peel, cinnamon, star anise, herbs and a subtle caramel sweetness.

Finish: Lang, pleasantly bitter, slightly sweet with lingering herbal and citrus notes.

Ramazzotti Amaro is traditionally served neat or on the rocks as a digestif after a hearty meal. It is also excellent as a long drink with tonic or ginger ale, which really brings out its fruity and spicy notes. The Ramazzotti Rosso Tonic is particularly popular, served with tonic water, a slice of orange and ice.

This Italian herbal liqueur is also incredibly versatile in the kitchen – whether used to enhance desserts, in coffee creations or as an aromatic ingredient in sauces and cocktails.
