The Rum Coruba 18 Years Old Pedro Ximénez Vintage 2000 is an exceptional, limited edition premium rum from Jamaica, which is given remarkable depth and complexity thanks to its long maturation period and subsequent ageing in fine Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. With an alcohol content of 50.6% vol., this fine drop is a powerful yet harmonious representative of the Caribbean rum scene.

This vintage rum dates back to 2000 and was matured for 18 years in former American white oak bourbon barrels before receiving a final refinement in Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels. This special finish gives the Rum Coruba sweet and fruity notes that harmonise perfectly with the strong, spicy and slightly smoky nuances of a classic Jamaican rum. Distillation is carried out using the traditional pot still method, which gives the rum its characteristic intensity and flavour density.

The Rum Coruba brand is known for its high-quality, full-bodied rums, which are bottled authentically and unfiltered to preserve the full potential of distillation and barrel ageing. The combination of Caribbean heat, the best sugar cane molasses and maturation in a tropical climate gives the Coruba 18 Years Old a distinct complexity and depth. Tasting Note

Colour: Dark mahogany with copper reflections.

Nose: Ripe dried fruit, dark chocolate, sultanas and fine caramel notes, accompanied by spicy oak and a subtle smokiness.

Flavour: Full-bodied and intense with notes of dates, figs, candied orange peel and sweet toffee. Spicy nuances of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves round off the flavour profile.

Finish: Langs and lingers with sweet sherry notes, dark cocoa and a hint of oak spice.

This exquisite rum is ideal for drinking neat at room temperature to experience the full depth of its flavours. For special moments of pleasure, it can also be combined with a high-quality dark chocolate, which complements its dark fruit flavours. Alternatively, it goes perfectly with a cigar with fine, spicy notes that emphasise the characteristic Jamaican spiciness of the rum. Coruba 18 Years Old is also an excellent choice as a digestif after a hearty meal.
