EL ALMA, which means "The Soul" in Spanish, reflects the essence of Zacapa's finest rums, aged in the high altitude regions of Guatemala under unique climatic conditions. This special edition celebrates the craftsmanship and tradition that have made Ron Zacapa one of the world's most prized rums.

This edition, a blend of rums of different ages and flavour profiles, undergoes a second maturation in heavily burnt American ex-whisky casks. This process allows the rum to develop its intense, toasted aromas, which harmonise perfectly with the volcanic environment of its origin and give it its characteristic, deep flavour.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with rich golden reflections that indicate its many years of ageing in Solera casks.

Nose: Complex and seductive, with aromas of dark chocolate, toasted wood and sweet fruit, followed by subtle notes of spice and a hint of smoke.

Flavour: The taste is equally rich and complex. Notes of caramel, vanilla and ripe dark fruits meld with cinnamon and nutmeg, rounded off by an elegant oak note.

Finish: Langs and velvety, with a lingering sweetness and a warm spiciness that completes the exquisite drinking experience.
