The Cotswolds Golden Wold The Harvest Series Batch 01/2022 52.5% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is an exceptional single malt whisky from the Cotswolds Distillery, which is renowned for its craftsmanship and use of the finest ingredients. This whisky is part of the Harvest Series, a limited edition based on the 2022 harvest, presenting a fresh, seasonal interpretation of Cotswolds whisky.

With an impressive alcohol content of 52.5 % vol., the Golden Wold is strong and expressive, but at the same time extremely balanced. The whisky is matured in a combination of bourbon, shaved, toasted and re-charred red wine and peated casks, giving it a harmonious blend of sweet, fruity and warm oak flavours. Batch 01/2022 showcases the craftsmanship of the Cotswolds Distillery, which knows how to combine modern whisky traditions with excellent raw materials and advanced maturation techniques.

The bottling is uncoloured and not chill-filtered. It is a bottling of 5,000 bottles.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold with bright amber reflections.

Nose: Fruity aromas of ripe apples, pears and tropical fruits, accompanied by warm caramel notes and a fine oak spice. A hint of honey and cinnamon adds depth to the nose.

Flavour: Full-bodied and rich with a perfect balance of sweet caramel notes, dried fruits and oak spice, paired with a hint of spice and a light citrus freshness. A subtle vanilla note rounds off the flavour.

Finish: Langs and warming with a pleasant oak spice, a hint of dark chocolate and a lingering fruitiness that rounds off the flavour experience perfectly.

The Cotswolds Golden Wold is perfect for drinking neat, especially at room temperature, to enjoy the deep flavours and complexity of the whisky. It can also be enhanced with a few drops of water to further develop the flavours.

This whisky goes perfectly with grilled meat, matured cheese or dark chocolate, as the fruity and spicy notes harmonise perfectly with these dishes. It is also an excellent choice as a base for whisky cocktails, such as a whisky sour or old fashioned.
