The Darkness Benrinnes 10 Years Old Oloroso Cask Finish is an intense and characterful single malt Scotch whisky from the Benrinnes Distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland. This exclusive bottling, which is bottled at 57% vol. in a 0.5-litre bottle, combines traditional cask ageing with a unique Oloroso Sherry Octave finish, which gives it an incomparable depth and variety of flavours.

After ten years of maturation in bourbon casks, the whisky receives its special finish in Oloroso Sherry Octave casks - smaller casks that allow a more intensive interaction between whisky and wood. This allows it to absorb particularly rich notes of dark fruits, spices and sherry sweetness.

This whisky is neither coloured nor chill-filtered in order to preserve its natural character and full aroma.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep amber with copper reflections.

Nose: Opulent aromas of sultanas, dark chocolate, roasted nuts and spicy oak, complemented by a hint of leather and sweet caramel.

Flavour: Full-bodied and intense with notes of dried fruit, toffee, espresso and spicy oak, paired with fine sherry sweetness and a subtle smokiness.

Finish: Langs and warming, with a lingering balance of sweet sherry notes, toasted almonds and a subtle spiciness.

Darkness Benrinnes 10 Years Old is a whisky that is best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to fully develop its complex flavours. It harmonises perfectly with dark chocolate, roasted nuts or mature cheese. It is also an excellent choice as an accompaniment to a fine cigar or a strong espresso.
