The Wolfburn 8 Years Old NORTHLAND Quarter Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky 46% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is an authentic Highland whisky from the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland - Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso, Caithness. Distilled with great craftsmanship, this 8 year matured single malt represents the characteristic combination of the rugged coastal landscape and the pure craftsmanship of the Highlands. Maturation in selected quarter casks - smaller casks that allow for more intensive maturation - creates a particularly full-bodied and deep flavour profile.


The carefully selected casks give this Wolfburn Northland Quarter Cask its sweet and malty basic structure, combined with a fine spiciness and delicate peat notes. This bottling is bottled unfiltered and without colouring to preserve the natural aroma of the whisky unadulterated. The result is a harmonious single malt with a remarkable balance between sweetness, fruitiness and gentle smoke. At 46%, it offers strength, character and accessibility in an ideal ratio. The elegant packaging with the gold and black Seewolf emblem emphasises the distillery's maritime origins and philosophy - whisky in its purest form.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold with warm amber reflections.

Nose: Sweet with fruity notes, fresh sea breeze, citrus freshness, cereals and fine peat smoke.

Flavour: Sweet and nutty with hints of grapes, honey, floral notes, dried fruit and delicate spice.

Finish: Soft, sweet and long-lasting with toffee, honey and a hint of gentle smoke.

The Wolfburn 8 Years Old Northland Quarter Cask is an excellent accompaniment to grilled salmon, smoked ham or mature cheeses such as cheddar or Gruyère. It also harmonises perfectly with dark chocolate, caramel desserts or roasted nuts, which complement its sweet and spicy flavours perfectly. As a digestif, it offers a wonderful flavour experience in combination with a mild cigar or a strong espresso. If you want to enjoy it on its own, it should be served at a low temperature to fully experience the fine balance between sweet fruit, nutty depth and maritime freshness.
