Best enjoyed neat at room temperature or with a drop of water to bring out its complexity. These whiskies are also excellent with cheese or seafood.

Heavily peated barley malt (approx. 40 ppm) is used here. After fermentation lasting up to 70 hours, the spirit is distilled in copper pot stills – uniquely featuring worm tubs: an old cooling technology that imparts depth and a smooth texture.

In Port Askaig, on the remote north-east coast of Islay, Ardnahoe lies between Caol Ila and Bunnahabhain. The distillery offers breathtaking views across Loch Ardnahoe and the Sound of Islay – a place as wild and rugged as its whisky.

Ardnahoe is matured in first-fill American white oak bourbon casks and Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. The on-site ageing process rounds off the style with a maritime freshness and intense oakiness.
