As a Progressive Hebridean Distiller, Bruichladdich takes a clear stance: sustainability, transparency and a connection to the region are at the heart of everything we do. Every whisky is distilled, matured and bottled on Islay – without chill filtration or colouring agents. The distillery uses only Scottish barley – sourced locally wherever possible – and is committed to transparent communication regarding provenance, raw materials and maturation.

Port Charlotte 10 Years Old Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt 50% ABV 0.7l

40 ppm peat, matured in bourbon and wine casks – smoky, salty, with vanilla and dried fruit. A modern Islay profile.

Octomore

With over 200 ppm , the smokiest whisky in the world. Complex, full-bodied, surprisingly elegant. Limited releases with a spirit of innovation.

Bruichladdich has made a name for itself worldwide thanks to its bold approach. The distillery has won numerous awards and is regarded as one of the most influential and transparent brands in the premium segment.

The brand family comprises three distinct lines, each with its own style:

• Bruichladdich Whisky: Unpeated, floral, fruity, complex – a classic Islay single malt with a modern twist
• Port Charlotte: Heavily peated (40 ppm), maritime, spicy – a tribute to traditional Islay whiskies
• Octomore: Extremely peated (120–300+ ppm), powerful, experimental – the smokiest whiskies in the world

Bruichladdich is committed to sustainable, transparent production. The distillery uses local raw materials, prioritises short supply chains and supports regenerative agriculture. The aim: to strengthen the connection between the land, people and whisky – going beyond industrial standards.

To this day, Bruichladdich produces its whisky using the original Victorian stills and traditional mashing and fermentation methods. The combination of old equipment and modern quality standards creates a distinctive style with depth and complexity. Every step – from malting to bottling – takes place on the island.

The whiskies are matured in a variety of selected casks – ranging from bourbon and sherry casks to wine and rum casks. Depending on the range, the flavour profile varies from floral and fruity (Bruichladdich) to smoky and salty (Port Charlotte) and extremely peaty, spicy and intense (Octomore). Maritime influences, stone fruits, honey, smoke and salt are typical sensory characteristics.

The Bruichladdich distillery was founded in 1881 on the Isle of Islay by the Harvey brothers. After several closures, it was successfully reopened in 2000 – with the aim of reinterpreting traditional whisky in a new way. Since then, Bruichladdich has stood for artisanal precision, innovation and a strong regional identity.
