Before Master Distiller Jim McEwan retired in 2015, he handed over his recipe for the Black Art range to his successor.

Quote from Adam Hannett, Head Distiller: "I have to say I took the recipe from Jim's hand and dutifully ignored it. This had to be my Black Art."

This Bruichladdich Black Art 11.1. is produced using artisanal techniques that have been passed down from one generation to the next. It comes exclusively from casks that pre-date the Bruichladdich distillery renaissance and have been matured on our island for almost three decades. The final single malt is created in secret by Head Distiller Adam Hannett, whose recipe is known only to him. The distillery does not use colouring agents or chill-filtration.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep amber.

Nose: Harmonious, dried fruit, honeyed caramel, rich oak, exotic spices.

Flavour: Balanced, dried fruit, sweet caramel, oak notes, exotic spices.

Finish: Langs on the palate.
