Prohibition... Hallucinogenic... Mythical... Controversial...
Perhaps it was once so, but today absinthe is not just a drink, but a lifestyle with a great heritage, steeped in intrigue.
Hapsburg Absinthe has perfected its collection to offer a range of wonderful absinthe experiences that are unique, imaginative and great tasting.
The Hapsburg Absinthe Quartier Latin range is a celebration of the vibrant bohemian lifestyle of the Latin Quarter in Paris. The popularity of absinthe rose rapidly during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly among Parisian artists and writers such as Baudelaire and Lautrec, who incorporated absinthe into their works. Type: Less strongly flavoured.
Flavour: Fruity & fresh.
Tasting Note
Colour: Black.
Nose: Intense aromas of dark forest fruits such as blackberries and blackcurrants, accompanied by a delicate note of aniseed and the classic herbs of absinthe.
Flavour: Complex and full-bodied, with a wonderful balance between the fruitiness of the wild berries and the characteristic bitterness of absinthe. The herbal notes of wormwood and fennel combine harmoniously with the fruity accents, resulting in an all-round balanced flavour.
Finish: Langs and spicy, with a pleasantly bitter aftertaste that subtly enhances the forest fruit notes and herbs.
Hapsburg Absinthe Quartier Latin is an excellent base for adventurous cocktails such as a classic absinthe sour or as part of an "Absinthe Frappe". But the absinthe also unfolds its fascinating flavours on its own over ice. It goes particularly well with strong, mature cheeses such as Roquefort or an intense Brie. For those who like it sweet, absinthe can also be mixed with chocolate de
