Nikka Yoichi Single Malt is a premium Japanese whisky produced at the historic Yoichi Distillery – Nikka’s first distillery, founded in 1934. The distillery is situated on the island of Hokkaido and is renowned for its Scottish-inspired production style, including the use of direct charcoal firing for distillation. This lends the whisky its distinctive, slightly smoky and maritime character, which sets it apart from other Japanese whiskies.

With an alcohol content of 45%, this single malt offers an intense yet balanced tasting experience. Its maturation in ex-sherry, bourbon and new oak casks results in a complex blend of peaty smoke, fruity aromas and elegant spicy notes. Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber.

Nose: Peat smoke, maritime notes, dried fruit, vanilla and a hint of spices.

Palate: Full-bodied and complex, with a combination of smoke, malt, dark chocolate, nuts and subtle fruity notes.

Finish: Long and elegant with a pleasant spiciness and a salty smoky note.

Nikka Yoichi Single Malt is best enjoyed neat or with a drop of water to allow its complex aromas to fully unfold. It pairs superbly with grilled meat, smoked fish or strong cheese.
