The Ron Zacapa Centenario 30 Aniversario Riedel Set - Old Edition is a special, limited bottling that was created to celebrate Ron Zacapa's 30th anniversary. In contrast to more recent versions, this "old" edition was not yet produced using the Solera process, but matured traditionally. This fine rum is based on sugar cane honey, which is matured in the high altitudes of Guatemala at over 2,400 metres above sea level.

It is matured in a careful selection of bourbon whiskey and sherry wine casks, including many Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which provide a profound sweetness. A significant proportion of the blend also matured in French oak barrels that previously contained sweet Moscatel wine, which gives this rum an unrivalled aromatic depth. The rums were married together over the course of a year to create a perfect balance - with an average age of 23 years, this blend offers an exceptionally smooth and complex flavour experience.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with golden reflections.

Nose: Complex with notes of dark chocolate, caramel, honey, sultanas, roasted nuts and fine oak spices.

Flavour: Velvety and full-bodied, with aromas of candied fruit, sweet sherry, bourbon vanilla, dried fruit, moscatel notes and fine spices.

Finish: Exceptionally long and complex, with sweet wood notes, a hint of tobacco, dark cocoa and fine roasted nuances.
