Carefully selected rums from the Dominican Republic and Barbados are blended together to create this composition. These countries of origin represent different rum styles – from smooth and fruity to structured and spicy – resulting in a harmonious and multi-layered premium rum from the Caribbean. The rum is initially matured in ex-bourbon casks made of American oak, before the blend is left to mature for a further six to twelve months in French oak casks that previously held very old rum from Nicaragua. This additional cask finish lends the Ron Espero Balboa Selección Homenaje a particularly elegant depth and an exotic, fruity character.
