The Glen Moray distillery, which has been based in Glen Elgin since 1897, stands for high-quality and accessible whiskies that delight both beginners and experienced connoisseurs.

This whisky is first matured in traditional American oak casks before being finished in ex-Cabernet Sauvignon red wine casks. This maturation gives it a fruity, soft and slightly spicy flavour that blends harmoniously with the classic Speyside elements. At 40% vol., the Glen Moray Elgin Classic Cabernet Cask Finish offers a pleasantly smooth yet aromatic flavour experience.

Tasting Note

Colour: Gold with reddish reflections.

Nose: Red berries, vanilla, sweet malt, a hint of oak spice.

Flavour: Soft, fruity, notes of dark cherries, blackcurrants, milk chocolate, light caramel sweetness and a gentle woody spice.

Finish: Medium length, with lingering red fruits, light spice and a hint of dark chocolate.

This fruity and elegant whisky is ideal for drinking on its own, but also goes well with dark chocolate, roasted nuts or a fine cheese platter with mild Brie or Camembert. It also harmonises perfectly with grilled meat, especially lamb or duck breast, as the red wine barrel notes complement the flavours perfectly.
