The name Cihuatán refers to a sacred land that hides the still undiscovered pyramids and secrets of the Mayan civilisation. The Cihuatán XAMAN XO was inspired by this mystical heritage. This bottling is a tribute to the Mayan god of the polar star, "XAMAN", who guided the ancient Mayan civilisation. The Cihuatán XAMAN XO rum is matured for a total of 16 years - 15 years in ex-bourbon barrels and one year in Mayan Ceiba wood barrels, which give it additional, unique flavours.

With its long maturation and unique combination of wooden barrels, Cihuatán XAMAN XO Rum is a true tribute to the Mayan heritage and a meisterwerk that reflects the history and culture of El Salvador.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber with reddish reflections.

Nose: Intense aromas of dark chocolate, fresh dried fruit, vanilla, caramel and a delicate hint of oak and spice.

Taste: Full-bodied and rich, with complex flavours of coffee, toffee, dried plums and a harmonious blend of warm oak notes and tropical fruits.
