The Domenis 1898 I III RE REFOSCO Grappa Invecchiata Barricata is an exquisite grappa from the long-established Domenis 1898 distillery, which has been renowned for its outstanding spirits for over a century.

This grappa is produced from fresh pomace of the Refosco grape, an indigenous grape variety from Friuli, Italy. Distillation takes place in eight copper stills using a batch process, which ensures the purity and quality of the distillate. The grappa is then aged in oak casks, giving it its characteristic amber colour and complex aromas.

With an alcohol content of 40% vol., this fine spirit is presented in an elegant 0.7-litre bottle and comes in a stylish gift box – ideal for connoisseurs and as a special gift.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold.

Nose: Intense aromas of ripe red fruits, accompanied by spicy notes and a hint of vanilla.

Palate: Smooth and velvety with a harmonious balance between fruitiness and subtle oaky notes.

Finish: Long-lasting and elegant, with a pleasant warmth and a lingering aftertaste of almonds and spices.

To enjoy the full range of flavours of the Domenis 1898 I III RE REFOSCO Grappa Invecchiata Barricata, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature of around 16–18°C in a tulip-shaped glass. Before drinking, the grappa should be allowed to breathe for a few minutes so that the aromas can develop to their full potential.

This grappa is ideal as a digestif after a fine meal and pairs particularly well with dark chocolate, mature cheese or roasted nuts. It also reveals its full potential when enjoyed alongside a cigar tasting.
