The water used to produce the rum is not drawn from underground aquifers, but from a dedicated mountain water collection system, returning only clean water to the land after use.

Prolonged fermentation is carried out using natural yeasts. Hampden Estate is one of the last distilleries that still produces its rums in batches; it currently has four operational stills.

Hampden rums are produced, stored and bottled without any additives, added sugar, tannins, caramel or glycerine.

Rum Fire is a pure Jamaican single rum with an ester content of 300 to 500 grams and therefore belongs to the LROK category.

The base is the molasses used. Distillation in a pot still further intensifies the tropical flavours, resulting in an amazingly intense overproof rum.

Tasting Note

Colour: Clear.

Nose: Fruity, overripe bananas, mangoes, pineapple, full-bodied spices, green olives, smoke.

Flavour: Intense, spicy, notes of pepper, overripe tropical fruit.

Finish: Langs, balanced.

This overproof rum adds real depth to cocktails.
