Plantation Rum Trinidad 2009 Beer Maturation Edition 2021 is an exceptional rum which, thanks to a unique and carefully crafted maturation process, offers a fascinating taste experience. The rum is made from molasses and undergoes a three-day fermentation process at the renowned Trinidad Distillers Limited. It is initially aged for 10 years in traditional bourbon casks, before spending a further 12 months maturing in ex-Cognac casks made of French oak in the cellars of the Château de Bonbonnet in Cognac. This double ageing process lends the rum exceptional depth and complexity. The rum is finished for 11 months in Duvel Barrel Aged Beer Casks, which adds an exciting and distinctive note.

Duvel, one of Belgium’s best-known strong beers, is characterised by its silky carbonation and pronounced bitterness. The combination of this barrel ageing with the characteristic rum profile of Plantation Rum produces an exceptional flavour profile that encompasses both fruity and spicy notes, combined with a subtle bitterness and a hint of malt resulting from the beer cask ageing.
