The name of the rum comes from a legendary sailing ship, the Kirk and Sweeney, which served as a smuggling ship for rum between the Caribbean and the north-east of the USA in the early years of Prohibition. The bottle bears a graphic depiction of the smuggling routes travelled by the ship during this exciting time.

Handcrafted in the Dominican Republic, this rum is made from high-quality sugar cane that is harvested by hand. The sugar cane is then transformed into blackstrap molasses, which is fermented and distilled to achieve a pure and intense flavour.

Maturation in American oak barrels gives the rum a pleasant woody flavour and ensures a perfect balance of sweetness, spice and oak. The rum adheres to the strict regulations required to be recognised as "Dominican Rum", which underlines its authenticity and quality.

Nose: Aromas of caramel, vanilla, grilled nuts and a fine oak note, which mix with a light fruit sweetness.

Flavour: Full-bodied and smooth with notes of roasted fruit, caramel, honey, a subtle vanilla sweetness and a light oak spice.

Finish: Long-lasting, smooth and harmonious with a pleasant woody finish accompanied by a light fruity sweetness.
