Description
Sibona La Grappa di NEBBIOLO is a single-varietal grappa from Piedmont, with an alcohol content of 40 per cent, available in a 0.5-litre bottle. The producer’s official designation is Grappa Piemontese di Nebbiolo. The long-established Distilleria Sibona uses exclusively Nebbiolo pomace from the Langhe and Roero, two significant wine-growing regions in Piedmont, as its raw material. The pomace comes from freshly harvested grapes, which are carefully selected by Sibona during the grape harvest. Distillation takes place entirely on-site in copper stills and is overseen by the distillery’s experienced oenologists and master distillers. This ensures that the characteristic Nebbiolo grape variety is clearly the focus of this Piedmontese grappa speciality.
After distillation, the Sibona Grappa di Nebbiolo is aged for an extended period in stainless steel tanks. Unlike barrel-aged Riserva bottlings, the focus here is not on the influence of oak, but on the unadulterated character of the Nebbiolo pomace. The grappa is bottled in Sibona’s signature 0.5-litre graduated bottle, featuring a level indicator on the side and a practical pourer. The combination of selected Nebbiolo pomace from the Langhe and Roero regions, in-house distillation and extended ageing in stainless steel makes this grappa a classic example of Sibona’s single-varietal Linie. This bottling has also already won awards at international competitions.

Tasting Note
Colour: Clear.
Nose: Broad and intense, with floral and fruity notes.
Palate: Harmonious, full-bodied and robust, with pronounced intensity and variety-typical fruitiness.
Finish: Lingering and long-lasting, with fruit and pomace aromas that fade harmoniously.
Sibona La Grappa di Nebbiolo is best served at 9 to 12 °C in a tulip-shaped glass and is particularly well suited as a digestif following an Italian meal. The producer particularly recommends pairing it with dried fruit and milk chocolate, whose sweetness provides a pleasant contrast to the grappa’s robust character. Walnuts, almonds or mild nut-based biscuits also pair well with its fruity and floral profile. As it is best enjoyed at a relatively cool temperature, it is also an excellent way to round off a meal featuring pasta, meat or Piedmontese dishes.
