Masahiro Pure Malt Whisky is an elegant Japanese pure malt whisky, bottled at 43 per cent in a 0.7-litre bottle and presented in a high-quality gift box. It is produced by the historic Masahiro Distillery on Okinawa, Japan’s only subtropical prefecture. The distillery looks back on a distilling tradition spanning over 140 years and benefits from the island’s warm climate, which enables the distillates to mature particularly intensely and rapidly. For this bottling, pure malts that have been matured for more than three years in ex-sherry butts and bourbon casks are blended together. The whisky is then given an additional finish of at least six months in first-fill Jack Daniel's bourbon casks. This carefully balanced combination of casks lends the whisky a harmonious and modern character that impressively reflects the distinctive style of Okinawa’s subtropical whisky production.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light amber.

Nose: Citrus fruits, pineapple, banana, tropical fruits and creamy vanilla.

Palate: Light-bodied with delicate malt, tropical fruits, ginger and subtle woody notes.

Finish: Medium-length with a mild sweetness and a pleasantly spicy aftertaste.

Masahiro Pure Malt Whisky is best enjoyed neat, on the rocks or with a few drops of still water. It pairs superbly with sushi, yakitori, grilled prawns, mild hard cheese, vanilla desserts or white chocolate.
