The Rebel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tawny Port Barrel Finish is a special limited edition from Lux Row Distillers, combining classic bourbon tradition with innovative barrel ageing. It is based on a wheated bourbon – a bourbon with a high wheat content instead of rye – which is known for its mild, rounded and creamy character. Following standard maturation in charred American oak casks, this whisky undergoes an additional finish in selected Tawny Port casks, lending it a fruity, velvety bouquet.

This combination creates an extraordinary depth of flavour, where the bourbon’s classic vanilla and caramel notes meet the nutty sweetness and ripe fruit aromas of the Tawny Port. With an alcohol content of 45 % vol., this Rebel Bourbon is powerful, aromatic and, at the same time, approachable. Bottled in limited quantities, this edition is aimed at connoisseurs who appreciate traditional American whiskies with an international twist.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber with reddish highlights.

Nose: Sweet and spicy with notes of vanilla, toffee, ripe plums and dried cherries.

Palate: Full-bodied with flavours of caramel, figs, oak, almonds and a hint of nutmeg.

Finish: Long and smooth with fruity warmth, subtle spice and a hint of port.

The Rebel Tawny Port Finish is excellent enjoyed neat – ideally in a tumbler or nosing glass. Adding a dash of water allows the fruity port notes to be experienced even more intensely.
