The WhistlePig distillery was founded in 2007 on a purchased farm and officially opened in 2015 following extensive refurbishment work. Master Distiller Dave Pickerell developed copper stills tailor-made specifically for the distillery, which are now in continuous operation seven days a week.

This 12-year-old rye whisky combines the best of both worlds: the powerful and distinctive character of American rye with the elegance and grace typical of an 18-year-old Scotch.

The blend of this whisky is based on a careful selection of whiskies that are initially matured in new American oak casks. They then undergo a refined secondary maturation in a unique combination of port casks (7 per cent), French Sauternes casks (30 per cent) and Madeira casks (63 per cent).

This carefully chosen combination of maturation processes lends the whisky an exceptional depth and complexity, making it appear both bold and refined.

Tasting Note

Colour: Gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Caramel, vanilla, winter fruits.

Palate: Rye spice, apricots, plums, raisins, dates, honey.

Finish: Long-lasting, dark chocolate, winter fruits, caramel, vanilla.
