Description
Ferdinand's Vermouth WHITE 18% vol. 0.5 l is an exceptional, high-quality vermouth produced from hand-picked Riesling grapes from the renowned Zilliken vineyard. These fine grapes come from the famous steep slate slopes of the Saarburger Rausch, one of the largest vineyards in the Saar region. Here, in the heart of the Moselle region, the Riesling grows in a unique terroir that lends the grapes a distinctive freshness and minerality.
Following the harvest, this vermouth is produced using a careful selection of herbs and flowers from the Saar region, which lend the drink a floral yet spicy complexity. Maturation takes place in traditional Moselle ‘Fuder’ barrels, which range in size from 1,000 to 1,800 litres and are made from high-quality oak. These casks help to gently integrate the flavours and allow the vermouth’s fruity and aromatic notes to develop harmoniously. Ferdinand’s Vermouth WHITE is thus a tribute to the region and its winemaking tradition, offering an exceptional taste experience.
Tasting Note
In the glass, this vermouth glows with a clear, pale golden hue and a hint of greenish-yellow. The aroma opens with a delicate, floral note, accompanied by ripe citrus fruits and a hint of honey. On the first sip, a harmonious combination of fresh fruit and a subtle herbal spiciness unfolds. The flavours of apple and white peaches are complemented by a floral hint of camomile and lavender. The gentle bitterness of the herbs and the mineral freshness from the grapes perfectly round off the flavour, leaving the vermouth with a pleasantly long finish on the palate.
Ferdinand's Vermouth WHITE is ideal as a base for a classic Martini, but also as an aperitif, served neat or on the rocks, to fully enjoy its multifaceted flavour. It is perfectly complemented by a selection of light starters such as goat’s cheese, prawns or even a fresh, Mediterranean antipasti platter. For a special touch, the vermouth can also be combined in cocktails with gin or tonic to emphasise its refreshing and floral character even more.
