Billy Walker is MacNair’s Master Blender. He is one of Scotland’s most respected blenders and, over his 50-year career, has created countless award-winning spirits.
Billy selects the world’s finest rums and brings them to the GlenAllachie Distillery. There, the final cask selection is made and blended by Billy. The result is then bottled as Exploration Rum. The bottling is carried out without artificial colourings or chill filtration.
Panama’s volcanic soil, situated in Central America, provides the ideal growing environment for sugar cane.
The rum is distilled from sugar cane and matures in American oak casks in Panama’s tropical climate. Following expert blending, the rum undergoes secondary maturation for over two years in casks that previously held peated single malt.
Tasting Note
Colour: Golden.
Nose: Rich, with notes of banana, apricot, coconut and cigar smoke.
Palate: Fruity, with notes of peach, mango, pineapple, sugar, mocha and orange peel.
Finish: Long-lasting.
