Description
Shinju 8 Years Old Japanese Whisky 40% vol. 0.7 l is a remarkable whisky from Japan, affectionately known as ‘the Pearl of Japan’. The name and history of this whisky are inspired by a beautiful legend: it is said that pearls were formed from the tears of angels, a story that reflects the elegance and noble character of this whisky. As a tribute to Japan’s highest and most sacred mountain, Mount Fuji, which stands at 3,776.24 metres, the crystal-clear water of Mount Fuji is used in the production of Shinju whisky. This water is renowned for its purity and lends the whisky a particularly soft and smooth texture.
Shinju 8 Years Old Whisky is matured for eight years in carefully selected oak casks, which lends it a complex and harmonious depth of flavour. The oak cask maturation brings out delicate aromas of vanilla, honey and wood, which blend perfectly with the whisky’s fresh, floral and fruity notes. Shinju Whisky offers a balanced and refined drinking experience that transports both whisky connoisseurs and newcomers alike into the world of Japanese whiskies.
Tasting Note
Colour: A golden amber colour resulting from ageing in oak casks.
Nose: Aromas of floral notes, with a gentle sweetness of honey and vanilla, accompanied by subtle hints of wood and spice.
Palate: Smooth and full-bodied, with a harmonious blend of fruity and floral notes, underpinned by subtle hints of wood and vanilla.
Finish: Long and pleasant, with a warm aftertaste of oak and a subtle sweetness that lingers on the palate.
Shinju 8 Years Old Japanese Whisky is ideal for enjoying neat, to fully experience the flavours, either at room temperature or slightly chilled. This whisky also pairs beautifully with fine dishes such as sushi, grilled fish or tender meat, as its delicate flavours perfectly complement the complex flavours of these dishes. The whisky also pairs exceptionally well with fine chocolate desserts or even mild cheeses, which bring out the subtle oak and vanilla notes of Shinju whisky.
