The BUI Mezcal Artesanal 100% Maguey Espadín Joven is a tribute to the centuries-old tradition of mezcal production in Mexico. Its name "BUI" comes from the language of the indigenous Otomí people and means "life". The Otomí were the first settlers in the high valley of Mexico and have a deep connection to nature and the gifts of agave. This handcrafted mezcal epitomises this spiritual and cultural richness.

Made from 100% Maguey Espadín (Agave Angustifolia), this mezcal is produced using traditional methods. The agave hearts are roasted in underground stone ovens over hot stones, creating the typical smoky flavours. After a slow fermentation with natural yeasts, it is distilled in copper stills to preserve its pure and authentic flavour. As a joven (young) mezcal, it is bottled directly without ageing in barrels, preserving the full flavours of the agave and the subtle smoky notes. With an alcohol content of 45% by volume, it has a powerful intensity that is particularly appreciated by connoisseurs and lovers of high-quality mezcals.

Tasting Note

Colour: Clear with silvery reflections.

Nose: Expressive smoky notes paired with earthy accents, sweet agave and a hint of citrus fruit.

Flavour: Powerful and deep with notes of smoked wood, fresh agave, black pepper and a slight hint of honey and caramel.

Finish: Long-lasting, spicy and smoky with a fine mineral note.

The BUI Mezcal Artesanal is a mezcal for Purists, ideal for enjoying slowly at room temperature to fully savour its complex aromas.
