This special cask maturation gives the whisky an unmistakable fruitiness, which is enhanced by the characteristic flavours of Portuguese red wine and the unique wines of the Douro Valley. The Teeling DOURO OLD VINES Casks is particularly notable for its complex flavour, which is combined with ripe fruitiness, a subtle wood and spice note and a fine sweetness. It is bottled without chill-filtration to preserve the full flavours and pure character of the whisky.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber with a slight copper sheen, reflecting the ageing in the wine barrels.

Nose: Fruity aromas of ripe stewed plums, dark berries and spices that harmonise with a hint of oak and vanilla.

Flavour: Full-bodied and complex, with ripe fruitiness of plum and dark cherries mingling with woody and spicy notes of cinnamon and pepper. The finish with port wine-like flavours and a subtle sweetness perfectly complements the deep and round aromas.

Finish: Langs and elegant, with harmonious oak and red wine flavours that gently combine with a fruity sweetness and a light spiciness.
