Bràulio Amaro herbal liqueur is a traditional Italian herbal liqueur that was first produced in 1826 by the pharmacist Francesco Peloni. It has been distilled at the Peloni distillery in the picturesque municipality of Bormio in Lombardy since 1875. Bràulio Amaro is known for its exceptional herbal blend, which is made from regional herbs sourced exclusively from the eponymous Monte Braulio in the Bormio area.

After fermentation, Bràulio Amaro matures for 2 years in Slavonian oak barrels, which allows it to develop its complex depth and subtle woody and spicy flavours. This long ageing process ensures a balanced harmony between the intense herbal aromas and the gentle sweetness that make Bràulio Amaro a full-bodied and aromatic delight.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep, dark brown with red reflections.

Nose: An intense herbal note, accompanied by spice and a subtle citrus note, which combine harmoniously and subtly support the woody notes of the oak.

Flavour: Full-bodied and tart, with herbal aromas of forest herbs, cinnamon and sweet roots that are perfectly balanced. A subtle sweetness rounds off the flavour and gives it a gentle softness.

Finish: Langs and spicy, with a tart herbal note that lingers pleasantly in the mouth, leaving subtle flavours of Slavonian oak.

Bràulio Amaro Herbal Liqueur makes an excellent digestif and can be enjoyed neat or on ice to perfectly experience the herbal notes and spiciness. This Amaro also brings out its complex depth in cocktails such as a Negroni or a Spritz. This herbal liqueur also goes perfectly with mature cheeses such as pecorino or gorgonzola as well as chocolaty desserts such as dark chocolate.
