The Kilchoman Fino Sherry Cask Matured Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an exceptional limited edition from the Kilchoman Distillery and is the distillery’s first globally available bottling to have been matured entirely in Fino sherry casks. For this edition, the whisky was stored throughout its maturation period in 12 Fino sherry butts, including 11 first-fill casks and 1 refill butt, previously used by Bodega Miguel Martin in Spain. This strictly limited edition has been bottled at 50% ABV, without chill filtration and without added colouring. Worldwide, this edition is limited to just 10,500 bottles, giving it a special place within Kilchoman’s experimental cask series.


In contrast to the classic Oloroso sherry maturations regularly featured in Kilchoman’s core range, Fino sherry brings a distinctly drier and saltier style. This type of cask lends the Kilchoman Fino Sherry Cask Matured a fresh, precise structure and adds new facets to the typical Islay character. Fruity freshness, maritime notes and the clear smokiness of the distillate come more to the fore, without losing any depth. This bottling forms part of a series of innovative full maturations, in which Kilchoman has previously experimented with Port, Madeira, Sauternes, red wine and STR casks. This edition is presented in a high-quality gift box, making it particularly appealing to collectors.

Colour: Pale gold, with clear silvery-golden highlights.

Nose: Fragrant green apples, citrus freshness, a hint of saltiness, accompanied by maritime notes and subtle peat smoke.

Palate: Dry and precise, with green apple, citrus, subtle notes of cooked fruit, a briny savouriness and elegant smokiness.

Finish: Long-lasting, dry and clean, with fresh fruit, sea salt, subtle smoke and a clear structure.
