Description
Description
The Francoli family distillery in Ghemme, Italy, has been in operation since 1875 and is one of the largest and best-known distilleries in Piedmont. It was the first grappa distillery to have no impact on the environment and to achieve a carbon-neutral balance. The heat for the distillation process is generated, for example, from plant-based fuels. The company has also taken part in the “Impatto Zero” project, securing a conservation area of 340,000 square metres in Costa Rica’s forests.
Erbaluce is a grape variety grown mainly in northern Piedmont. Its grapes are characterised by floral aromas and pronounced acidity. Erbaluce grappa is produced by steam distillation, without barrel ageing, to preserve the original aromas. This grappa has an alcohol content of 41.5 per cent by volume and is a highly regarded spirits product from Piedmont.
