El Padrino Tequila Extra Añejo 100% Puro de Agave is a fine premium spirit that impresses with its exceptionally long ageing process and complex bouquet. Made from 100 per cent blue Weber agave, this tequila undergoes an elaborate production process that guarantees its unrivalled depth and smoothness.

The agave hearts are first roasted for 36 to 54 hours in traditional stone ovens, allowing them to develop their natural sweetness and soft texture. This is followed by a slow fermentation lasting 48 to 60 hours, before the tequila is distilled in copper stills. This results in a particularly pure and multi-layered aroma with subtle notes of caramel, spices and oak.

After distillation, El Padrino Extra Añejo is aged for over three years in American oak casks, giving it an incomparably smooth yet expressive character. During this long ageing period, intense aromas of burnt agave, vanilla, dark caramel and toasted wood develop, harmonising perfectly with the natural spiciness of the cask.

Palate: Full-bodied and silky with notes of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, caramel and subtle spices.

El Padrino Extra Añejo is ideal for sipping neat to best appreciate its delicate flavours. It is best served in a cognac or tumbler glass at room temperature. It pairs superbly with dark chocolate, caramelised almonds or a mild, matured cheese. Alternatively, it can be used as a luxurious base for cocktails such as an Extra Añejo Old Fashioned or a Tequila Manhattan to highlight its depth and elegance.
