The Scheiblhofer Winery is a family-run business and cultivates around 104 hectares of vineyards, making it one of the largest in Burgenland. The entire grape harvest is processed on the estate and marketed in bottles. The village of Andau, where the winery is situated, is one of the areas with the highest number of hours of sunshine and, thanks to its mineral-rich gravelly soil, offers ideal conditions for full-bodied wines.

The winery is not only well known for its Prädikat wines, but also for its top red wines, such as the outstanding ‘Big John’. Johann Scheiblhofer has won more than 300 gold medals at regional wine competitions, making him the most decorated winemaker in the region.

Scheiblhofer The Legends is an exquisite cuvée made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wine matures for 16 months in new French barriques, during which time it develops its characteristic depth and complexity. After maturation, it is bottled and sealed with a natural cork.

With a ageing potential until 2033, Scheiblhofer The Legends offers a long-lasting tasting experience and will unfold its full aroma in the years to come.

Tasting Note

A deep ruby red with ripe hues in the glass. On the nose and on the palate, it is complex and multi-layered, with fruity aromas of blackcurrants and hints of caramel, underpinned by a toasty oak character. The finish is long-lasting and smooth.

An ideal accompaniment to red meat, game dishes and rich sauces. Decanting is recommended before serving to allow the red wine’s aromas to fully develop.
