The Lochlea Distillery is an independent single malt distillery based at Lochlea Farm in Ayrshire, near Glasgow in the Lowlands. The old farm has been converted into a distillery with a bonded warehouse. The distillery began operations in August 2018.

John Campbell, the former Laphroaig Distillery Manager, runs the family-owned business. The Scottish poet Robert Burns lived on and managed the farm from 1777 to 1784.

The barley used in production is grown and harvested on site. The water is drawn from limestone springs deep beneath the distillery. This ensures full traceability from field to bottle.

Following the Harvest Edition First Crop and the Harvest Edition Second Crop, this single malt is the third and final release in the Lochlea Distillery’s Harvest Editions series. The Third Crop has matured for a further year and has been Lagered in carefully selected bourbon and port casks to develop a sweet, summery flavour profile. Inspired by the annual barley harvest, this edition captures the character of the season and allows Lochlea’s signature flavours to come into their own.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Strawberry jam, clotted cream.

Palate: Apple pie, chocolate, black pepper.

Finish: Long-lasting.
