The Strablegg-Leitner Sauvignon Blanc Ried Kaiseregg 2022 is an outstanding white wine from one of the best vineyards in south-east Austria. Ried Kaiseregg, known for its special soils and ideal microclimate, offers the perfect soil for growing this aromatic grape variety. The Sauvignon Blanc grows here on chalky soils, which give the wine a wonderful minerality and structure. Maturation in stainless steel tanks ensures that the freshness and distinctive flavours of this grape are optimally preserved.

This Sauvignon Blanc shows an exceptional balance between fruitiness and minerality and is a perfect expression of the terroir of the Kaiseregg vineyard. With an alcohol content of 13% vol., the wine offers both immediate enjoyment and good ageing potential to gain even more complexity over time.

Tasting Note

The Sauvignon Blanc Ried Kaiseregg presents itself in the glass in a clear, light yellow colour with green reflections. The nose is dominated by intense aromas of citrus fruits, particularly grapefruit and lime, accompanied by fresh herbs and a subtle, herbal note that is typical of a Sauvignon Blanc from this region. On the palate, the wine is lively and refreshing, with a crisp acidity that harmonises perfectly with the fruity and mineral notes. The finish is long and elegant, with a hint of herbs and a finely balanced freshness that rounds off the flavour experience.

This Sauvignon Blanc is ideal as an aperitif or with light starters such as fresh salads, goat's cheese or sushi. It is also ideal with fish dishes such as grilled salmon or seafood. For a special treat, the wine is recommended with Asian dishes such as Thai curry or a fish tartare.
