This Zinfandel comes from selected Lager in California, where the warm climate and diverse soils provide ideal conditions for the grape variety. The 2022 vintage is concentrated and ripe, with an alcohol content of 15 % vol., which lends the wine additional body and depth. It is aged traditionally in oak barrels, which imparts complexity, structure and subtle spicy notes. The Red Label Zinfandel is a perfect expression of American red wine culture and a prime example of this grape variety’s versatility.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the 2022 Coppola Zinfandel displays a deep ruby red colour with violet highlights. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries and plums unfold, complemented by notes of chocolate, black pepper, vanilla and subtle toasted aromas. On the palate, it is full-bodied, robust and supple all at once, with a harmonious blend of fruity sweetness, spicy hints and well-integrated tannins. The long finish is characterised by dark fruits and subtle spice.

The Francis Ford Coppola Diamond Collection Zinfandel is a versatile wine for dining, making it an excellent choice to accompany BBQ dishes, grilled beef, spicy spare ribs, lamb or game. It is also an excellent choice with hearty pasta dishes with tomato sauces or mature cheeses. Served at 16–18 °C and lightly decanted, it reveals its full potential.
