The Lochlea Distillery, an independent single malt distillery, is situated on Lochlea Farm in Ayrshire, near Glasgow in the Scottish Lowlands. Founded in August 2018 and run by John Campbell, the former manager of the Laphroaig Distillery, this family-run distillery is committed to quality and transparency.

The barley used for the Lochlea Fallow Edition Third Crop whisky is grown on the distillery’s own land, reflecting the distillery’s unique philosophy. This single malt was matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, which lend it its rich flavours. Lochlea Distillery dedicates the Fallow Edition Third Crop to the end of the season, thereby also marking the conclusion of this special series.

As part of the Seasonal Releases, which are produced in small batches, this whisky embodies the distillery’s commitment to transparency and quality. From the barley in the field to the bottling process, the entire process is fully traceable.

This concept is guided by the motto ‘dare to be honest’ and underlines Lochlea’s philosophy of creating uncompromisingly authentic whiskies.

Tasting Note

Colour: Mahogany.

Nose: Baked apple, Medjool dates.

Palate: Manuka honey, nuts, fresh malt bread.

Finish: Long-lasting.
