The Portia Verdejo Rueda 2024 is an expressive, fresh white wine with an alcohol content of 13 per cent by volume, hailing from the renowned Rueda wine-growing region in the Spanish region of Castile and León. This modern white wine is produced by the avant-garde Bodegas Portia winery, which is renowned not only for its architecturally striking winery but also for its distinct style and precisely vinified wines. The 2024 vintage is at its very best – lively, aromatic and perfectly balanced.

The grape variety used is 100% Verdejo, Spain’s quintessential white wine. It is renowned for its characteristic aromas, its freshness and an elegant mineral structure. The grapes are harvested during the cool night-time hours to preserve their full freshness and fruitiness. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks, ensuring it remains particularly fruit-forward, pure in flavour and crisp. The result is a modern-style Verdejo with great expressiveness and authentic terroir character.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Portia Verdejo 2024 appears pale straw-yellow with greenish highlights. On the nose, aromas of white peach, citrus fruits, fennel and a hint of tropical fruit dominate. On the palate, it is fresh, juicy and lively, with a characteristic, slightly herbaceous note, mineral finesse and well-integrated acidity. The finish is clean, crisp and refreshingly long.

This Verdejo is an ideal accompaniment to grilled fish, marinated seafood, summer vegetables, light tapas or goat’s cheese. Even when enjoyed on its own, well chilled at around 8–10 °C, it impresses with its freshness and lightness – perfect for warm days, aperitifs and social occasions.
