The Glenmorangie distillery, founded in 1843 in the Scottish Highlands near Tain, is famous for its exquisite single malt Scotch whiskies. This Glenmorangie Lasanta finds its origins in the exceptionally high stills, which produce a wonderfully delicate and fruity spirit. It is then matured for 15 years in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks before a finish in sherry casks gives it its final, complex depth.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep rosewood, exuding classic elegance and refined depth.

Nose: A rich interplay of spice and sweetness, infused with ripe sultanas, honeycomb and chocolate-covered hazelnuts, rounded off with a delicate hint of cinnamon.

Flavour: Full-bodied and aromatic, dominated by spicy accents such as cinnamon and cloves, harmoniously complemented by the depth of dark chocolate.

Finish: Langs and intense, unfolding with a fruity sweetness of Seville orange marmalade and dates, leading into a rich, molasses-infused finish.

The whisky harmonises perfectly with rich chocolate desserts such as chocolate fondant or brownies, which complement the deep, dark chocolate notes in the whisky's flavour wonderfully. It also goes well with mature cheeses such as Stilton or a strong cheddar, which emphasise the spicy and fruity flavours.
