It is a single grain whisky, produced from a grain base (primarily rice) and matured in oak casks. Korea’s climatic conditions ensure intensive cask maturation, whilst the distillery preserves a smooth, clear aroma with great precision. With an alcohol content of 41 % vol., the HWAYO X. is pleasantly approachable, yet finely structured and surprisingly complex.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold.

Nose: Soft and floral with notes of vanilla, light fruits, a hint of citrus, honey and a touch of toasted wood.

Palate: Smooth, round and mellow with flavours of malt sugar, rice, creamy caramel, oak and subtle spice.

Finish: Medium-length, gently spiced and pleasantly sweet with a hint of nuttiness.

HWAYO X. is excellent enjoyed neat or slightly chilled in a tumbler or nosing glass. It also makes an excellent base for elegant highballs with soda or adds a delightful twist to an Asian-inspired whisky sour.
