The Douglas Laing Timorous Beastie The Cheese Cellar Collection Moscatel Cask Finish Limited Edition is the third and final release in the exclusive Cheese Cellar Collection. With an alcohol content of 48% vol. and strictly limited to just 4,200 bottles worldwide, this exceptional Highland blended malt Scotch whisky combines the unmistakable signature of Douglas Laing with the aromatic influence of sun-ripened Moscatel wine casks from Spain.


The base is the characteristic Timorous Beastie Highland blended malt, which is known for its balance of honey sweetness, malt and subtle spicy notes. This edition has been finished in purple and white Moscatel casks, giving the whisky a fascinating complexity and elegant fruity flavour. Complemented by Strathearn Single Casks and bottled without colouring or chill-filtration, this limited edition retains its pure, natural character - a prime example of artisanal whisky refinement.


The name "Timorous Beastie" is inspired by the eponymous field mouse from the famous poem "To a Mouse" by Scottish national poet Robert Burns - but this whisky is anything but shy. It shows strength, elegance and character, expressing the Highland style of Douglas Laing in a new, fruity and floral dimension.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold with copper reflections.

Nose: Sweet and aromatic with notes of vanilla, honey, citrus, ripe grapes and delicate wine notes.

Flavour: Creamy, complex and harmonious with aromas of malt, honey, meringue, floral moscatel tones, light caramel and a hint of spices.

Finish: Langs, soft and fruity with fine grape notes, honey sweetness and a light oak finish.
