The E.Guigal Côtes du Rhône AC 2022 is a characterful, classic red wine from the southern Rhône Valley, produced by the renowned E.Guigal winery, which ranks amongst France’s leading producers. Since 1946, the family-run business based in Ampuis has stood for uncompromising quality, traditional winemaking and distinctive wines with a sense of place. The Côtes du Rhône 2022 is a prime example of the art of combining a variety of grape varieties, terroir and style.

The cuvée is composed of the typical Rhône grape varieties: Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, carefully vinified and aged in large casks. The high proportion of Syrah lends depth, structure and spice, whilst Grenache contributes warmth and fruit. The wine is matured traditionally in wood, which lends it elegance and ageing potential. With an alcohol content of 15 % vol. and its full-bodied style, this vintage is powerful, complex and yet approachable – a classic Rhône red wine with character and expression.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby red colour with violet highlights. On the nose, there are intense aromas of dark berries, black cherry, pepper, liquorice and subtle spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, harmonious and well-structured, with ripe tannins, juicy fruit and a long, spicy finish. An expressive Rhône wine with depth and elegance.
