Named after the Cueva tribe, one of Panama’s earliest indigenous peoples, this rum commemorates the first encounters with the Spanish in 1501. The tribe was wiped out by 1535 – as a result of conflict and disease. Today, Ron Cueva stands as a tribute to the lost heritage of the Cueva and actively supports indigenous communities in Panama through social projects.

The rum itself is a masterfully composed blend of selected rums, matured using the traditional Solera method – with some components having been aged for up to 30 years. Ageing in carefully selected oak casks gives the rum its intense teak colour and its complex flavour profile.
