The Weinhof Ulrich Chardonnay Eruption Ried Tamberg Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2021 is a powerful, terroir-driven white wine with plenty of character and expression – a real highlight from south-east Styria. This quality wine comes from the renowned single vineyard Ried Tamberg, whose deep volcanic loam soils with light limestone deposits provide the foundation for a particularly complex and structured Chardonnay.

The 2021 vintage displays tremendous density, depth and richness – a style that is perfectly showcased through the interplay of climate, soil and careful vinification. The vines benefit from the warm, Pannonian-influenced climate of Styria’s Vulkanland region, whilst cool nights and the unique geological conditions ensure freshness and longevity. With an alcohol content of 14 % vol., this wine is powerful, yet consistently balanced and elegant.

The Chardonnay Eruption Ried Tamberg 2021 has impressive ageing potential until at least 2031 and beyond. A wine for discerning connoisseurs, which reveals its origin and vinification method in every sip – full-bodied, structured and with a lingering finish.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the wine displays a deep, golden-yellow colour with brilliant clarity. The nose reveals a basket of exotic fruits with notes of ripe pineapple, yellow melon and tropical accents, set against creamy, slightly smoky undertones. On the palate, this Chardonnay is full-bodied, complex and wonderfully creamy, with a clear structure, harmonious texture and a long, elegant finish reminiscent of ripe stone fruit, citrus fruits and delicate spices.

The Weinhof Ulrich Chardonnay Eruption Ried Tamberg 2021 is an excellent choice as a sophisticated accompaniment to Mediterranean dishes, seafood such as grilled octopus or scallops, as well as asparagus in creamy sauces or fine hard cheeses. Serve at 12 °C in a Burgundy glass – for a full-bodied, aromatically rich and terroir-driven white wine experience with excellent ageing potential.
